Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of ClarityScan. The short version: use scores as a research starting point, verify the package, and never substitute the app for professional medical advice.

Effective date: August 17, 2026

1. Acceptance and eligibility

By downloading or using ClarityScan, you agree to these terms and Apple's applicable standard end-user terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. You must be legally able to agree to these terms in your location; minors must have parent or guardian involvement.

2. Free and Premium plans

The free plan includes up to 10 completed scans per calendar month and may show a Google interstitial ad after a completed free scan. Unused scans do not roll over. Premium provides unlimited scans, no ads, and access to advanced insights while an active subscription entitlement exists.

3. Subscriptions

Premium is offered at $4.99 USD monthly or $29.99 USD yearly in the United States. The App Store displays and controls the price and currency that actually apply to you. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple charges renewal within 24 hours before expiration. You can manage or cancel through your App Store account settings. Restore Purchases checks your current Apple entitlement. Apple handles billing and refund requests under its rules.

4. Educational information—not medical advice

ClarityScan provides general educational product information. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, emergency guidance, or a guarantee that a product is safe or suitable. Do not start, stop, or change medication or treatment based on ClarityScan. Ask a qualified professional about health conditions, pregnancy, medication interactions, allergies, and individual risks.

5. Scores, AI, OCR, and third-party data

Scores, ingredient matches, optical text recognition, translations, product names, images, alternatives, and catalog records may be incomplete, uncertain, incorrect, or outdated. A low-risk label does not prove safety, and a concern label does not prove harm in every dose or use. Verify the current package, especially allergens, recalls, warnings, directions, dose, and expiration. Community and third-party data remain subject to their providers' terms.

6. Alternatives and independence

Suggested alternatives are informational comparisons, not prescriptions or guaranteed recommendations. ClarityScan does not accept brand payment to alter a score. Advertising shown to free users is separate from the scoring process. A product's presence, absence, image, or ranking is not an endorsement.

7. Acceptable use

You may use ClarityScan for personal, lawful purposes. You may not interfere with the app, bypass limits or security, scrape or redistribute databases, misrepresent results as professional advice, infringe others' rights, or use the service to cause harm. Features may be limited or discontinued to maintain security, comply with law, or protect the service.

8. Availability and disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, ClarityScan is provided “as is” and “as available.” Continuous access, flawless recognition, complete catalog coverage, and fitness for a particular purpose are not guaranteed. Non-waivable consumer rights remain unaffected.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, ClarityScan's publisher is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from use of—or reliance on—the app, including decisions made from a score or third-party record. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Changes and termination

Features and these terms may change. A new effective date will be posted, and material changes will be presented when reasonably required. You may stop using the app at any time and can manage subscriptions through Apple. Provisions that logically survive termination continue to apply.

11. Contact

For support or legal questions, use the ClarityScan support page. Do not send passwords, payment-card data, or medical records.
